FutureCom™ D
FutureCom D (2002) is Corning's Class D system solution for symmetrical cabling. It fulfils all requirements of the current standards, Class D for transmission paths and Category 5 for the components.
In addition, the FutureCom D system also satisfies Category 5e. A high level of system reserve is achieved for the entire cabling section through the use of high-quality Category 5 connection technology,
cables and corresponding connecting cables.
Cables
Halogen-free cables (LSZH) and cables with a PVC sheath are available for the FutureCom D system. The stranded pairs are foil shielded or additionally sheathed with a full braided copper wire
shielding (S-FTP). The Zero Halogen cables are non-corrosive, low smoke and flame retardant. The low signal delay margins between the pairs (low-skew) emphasize their suitability for Gigabit Ethernet.
Connecting Hardware
The core item of the FutureCom D cabling system solution is the further developed Category 5 S100e Connection Module. This extremely compact RJ45 Module, with its outstanding technical
transmission values, stable die cast housing, enhanced wire management and integrated cable clamp, conforms to the requirements of high-quality modular connection technology. Each individual
RJ45 connection is separately shielded and nevertheless offers the highest degree of component densities in sockets and patch panels.
Patch Cables
Patch cords used in the FutureCom D are pre-connectorized with shielded RJ45 Plugs at both ends. The cords have four stranded-to-the-core pairs and fully braided copper wire shielding.
