Splice Equipment
i-Series Fusion Splicer
The two fusion splicers of the i-series contain a PC with a 20GB hard disk. The operator has at his disposal a fusion splicer application as well as the full PC
functionality. Maximum operator friendliness is provided by touchscreen, interactive learning videos and help functions as well as “Remote Service Functionality”,
via network and internet link combined with the possibility of using any desired Windows XP-compatible software.
The i-series offers two fusion splicer options:
- The iLID uses the LID-System™ (Local light Injection and Detection), the CDS™
(Core Detection System) as well as the L-PAS™ (Lens-Profile Alignment System).
- The iCDS is equipped with CDS™ and L-PAS™.

µ-Series Fusion Splicer
The two µ-series splice systems also offer graduated splice process control systems. In accordance with the requirement at hand, the priority is either upon
speed or precision. With high precision, the accuracy of the analysis of the fiber ends and the estimation of the splice loss are significantly more precise.
In contrast to the i-series, the systems possess no integrated PC functionality and are focused on core splicing capabilities.
The µ-series offers two fusion splicer options:
- The µLID uses the LID-System™ (Local light Injection and Detection), the CDS™
(Core Detection System) as well as the L-PAS™ (Lens-Profile Alignment System).
- The µCDS is equipped with the CDS™ and the L-PAS™.
